The gallery was created in Italy in 1990 by three friends: Mario Cristiani, Lorenzo Fiaschi and Maurizio Rigillo. In 2004, Galleria Continua has been one of the first foreign art galleries to reach to China, opening a new location in the now famous Beijing’s 798 Art District. Relentlessly expanding, two other locations were inaugurated in France and Cuba, respectively in 2007 and in 2015. A strong desire inhabited the three founders to maintain a continuity between generations while composing a story responsive to contemporary creation. Nowadays Galleria Continua is among the 20 most important galleries in the world.

She did not recover, and died on 18 January 2016.
